Word Chain Coding Decoding - Deciphering

Word Chain Coding Decoding: Coding is a process used to encrypt a word, a number in a particular code or pattern based on some set of rules. Decoding is a process to decrypt the pattern into its original form from the given codes.

Word Chain Coding Decoding- Deciphering: In these type of questions some messages are given in the coded language, then code a particular word or a message is asked. To analyse such codes any two messages are having common words are chosen and the code for that common word is found. In this way code for all the words is found and hence the answer is identified.T

In these tyw of questions, a few groups of numbers each coding a certain short message, are given. Through a comparison of the given coded messages, taking two at a time, the candidates is required to find the number code for each word and then formulate the code for the message given.

Illustration: In a certain language  'min fin bin gin' means 'trains are always late;,'gin din cin hin' means 'drivers were always punished'; 'bin cin vin rin' means 'drivers stopped all trains'; and 'din kin fin vin' means 'all passengers were late. Then the statement 'Drivers were late' would be written as

A. min cin din      B. fin cin din     C fin din gin       D. gin hin min

Answer: B

Solution: In the second and third statements, the common code - word is 'cin' and the common word is 'drivers'. So, 'cin' means 'drivers'

In the second and fourth statements, the common code - word is 'din' and the common word is 'were'.

In the first and fourth statements, the common code - word is 'fin' and the common word is 'late'. So, 'fin' means 'late'.

Thus, the required code will be a combination of 'cin', 'din' and 'fin'.

Hence the correct answer is B

Illustration: In a certain code MPN means; Lake is Blue' 'OMR' means 'Blue Big Bright' and 'KRN' means 'Monn is Bright'. Which code in that language stands for Big.

(A) M                   (B) R              (C) N            (D) Cannott be determined           (E) None of the above

Answer: (E)

Solution: In the first and second statements, the common code - letter is 'M' and the common word is 'Blue'. So, 'M' means 'Blue'

In the second and third statements, the common code - letter is 'R' and the common word is 'Bright'.

So code 'O' stands for 'Big'. But it is not given in the options

Hence the correct answer is E
